Gold Scholars Program

This merit-based scholarship program awards $1000 to (2) black students to support college expenses in their first year. We aim to help alleviate the financial burden on students of color, who often struggle with pre-semester school expenses like books, supplies, and transportation.

Eligibility Criteria:

• First-year college students or high school graduates with a college acceptance letter
  
  
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
  
  
• Must be from Kent County, MI (but may attend any college or university)
  
  
• Must identify as a member of the BIPOC community
  
  
• Must attend the Gold Gala on November 6, 2025 (two complimentary tickets provided)
  
  

Application Process:

• Complete the application form
  
  
• Submit a 500-word essay
  
  
• Deadline: September 1, 2025
  
  

Scholarship Process:
Once awarded, the two recipients will be publicly announced and presented with their awards at the Gold Gala.
