This merit-based scholarship program awards $1000 to (2) black students to support college expenses in their first year. We aim to help alleviate the financial burden on students of color, who often struggle with pre-semester school expenses like books, supplies, and transportation.
Eligibility Criteria:
- First-year college students or high school graduates with a college acceptance letter
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must be from Kent County, MI (but may attend any college or university)
- Must identify as a member of the BIPOC community
- Must attend the Gold Gala on November 6, 2025 (two complimentary tickets provided)
Application Process:
- Complete the application form
- Submit a 500-word essay
- Deadline: September 1, 2025
Scholarship Process:
Once awarded, the two recipients will be publicly announced and presented with their awards at the Gold Gala.
